Annual bills checklist: yearly, 6-month, and quarterly
Monthly rent and utilities show up every paycheck. The bills that surprise people are the ones that bill once or twice a year. Use this checklist to capture them, then type the ones you pay into the free calculator.

Combined total of the rows above: $2,282/year (about $190.17/month). Mix of cited averages and examples — not your household.
Yearly bills to check off
Insurance renewals (auto, renters, homeowners, life). Vehicle registration. Property tax (or escrow true-up if you pay outside the mortgage). Domain names and software renewals billed yearly. Club and professional memberships. HVAC or furnace service contracts. Warranty or roadside plans. School or activity fees that bill once a year.
Where this page shows a dollar figure, it is cited. BLS reports average vehicle insurance of $1,993 per consumer unit in 2024 — orientation only, not your premium. Amazon lists U.S. Prime at $139/year on its help page. Registration, property tax, HVAC contracts, and most memberships have no single national price here, so leave those lines blank until you copy your statement.
Every 6 months and quarterly
Semi-annual: some auto insurance and property-tax installments. Quarterly: estimated taxes for freelancers, some HOA dues, water/sewer in a few cities, and certain professional licenses. Put each on the list with its real cadence so the set-aside math uses the right divisor.
Print this page or copy the category names into a notes app, tick what you pay, then open the free calculator and enter only the lines that apply. /sample shows how those lines can sit on a month-by-month calendar.
What this checklist is not
It is not a full monthly budget template and not a quote for your zip code. For a broader household list that includes monthly bills, use the monthly expenses list. For set-aside math, see how much to set aside for bills. For gifts, travel, food, decorations, and cards before mid-December, see how much to set aside each month for the holidays.
Use the annual bills checklist
Capture non-monthly bills, then total them in Per Year.
Print or copy the yearly / 6-month / quarterly categories. Mark every bill your household actually pays.
Fill amounts from statements only. Use cited averages only as context. Type your premium, tax, and renewal from the bill.
Enter the marked bills in the calculator. Set each line to year, every 6 months, or quarter so the yearly total is honest.

Questions
What belongs on an annual bills checklist?+
Bills that are not monthly: insurance renewals, vehicle registration, property tax, yearly software and domain renewals, memberships, HVAC service contracts, and similar charges. Include 6-month and quarterly bills too.
Why are most lines missing a dollar amount?+
This site only prints a number when a public source is linked. Registration, property tax, and most memberships vary too much for one national figure, so those lines stay blank for your statement.
