Why January is the heavy month in our starter lists
Per Year has 5 starter lists that include a yearly bill. In 4 of them, January is the most expensive month. The reason is one line: the Amazon Prime example ($139 a year) sits in January until you set your own renewal month.
That is a fact about our example lists, not a national pattern. Your heaviest month is wherever your own yearly bills land, which is why the next step is setting their months.
Three steps for 2027
1
List what you already pay
Tap the bills you have and type the price from the statement. Weekly, monthly, and yearly bills all go on one list.
2
Put each yearly bill in its month
Set the month each yearly or twice-a-year bill renews. That moves it out of the default month and onto your real 2027.
3
Set aside the same amount each month
Per Year divides the year by 12, so a January renewal is covered by small amounts across the months before it. That is ordinary division, not advice.
